Scholarship & Bursary Awards

August 21, 2026

Jannou Credit Union is proud to celebrate 46 years of investing in the education of its members through the CPEA Scholarship and Bursary Program, under the theme, “We Excel Together.”

Castries, Saint Lucia – Tuesday, August 11th, 2026

For 46 years, Jannou Credit Union has remained dedicated to supporting one of its greatest assets: the people it serves. On August 11th, 2026, the Credit Union hosted its annual CPEA Scholarship and Bursary Awards Ceremony at its headquarters in Castries.

This year's theme, “We Excel Together,” reflects the cooperative spirit that lies at the heart of the Credit Union. As a member-owned cooperative, Jannou Credit Union understands that progress is strongest when individuals work together, support one another, and create opportunities for the greater community. The program recognizes that excellence goes beyond academic achievement. The student’s awarded scholarships have demonstrated not only academic promise but also a strong connection to the cooperative spirit and the Jannou community.

The theme, “We Excel Together,” is evident in the active participation of students and their families in the Credit Union's activities. From having Spirit of the Calabash (SOCA) Accounts to engaging with Jannou’s products and services, attending the Annual General Meeting, participating in community events, and volunteering, these experiences embody the cooperative values of participation, ownership, service, and community.

At Jannou Credit Union, participation is essential. The cooperative thrives when members go beyond merely using its services. When they engage, contribute, volunteer, learn, support, and take ownership of the credit union community, they collectively create a stronger organization.

Additionally, the cooperative principle of Concern for Community plays a crucial role in Jannou Credit Union's commitment to education and youth development. As a financial cooperative, Jannou's success is inherently linked to the success of its members and the communities they inhabit.

For 46 years, members have been central to the success of this program. The contributions and collective strength of the membership empower Jannou to consistently create opportunities that extend beyond financial services. The Scholarship and Bursary Program demonstrates what can happen when a community comes together with a common purpose of people helping people. This is the cooperative difference.

Today, we recognize students who are much more than just scholarship and bursary recipients; they are the future members, leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, volunteers, and community builders of tomorrow.

At Jannou, we believe that fostering strong relationships with young people from an early age lays the foundation for a future membership that values cooperation and understands the importance of giving back.

The Credit Union's investment is twofold: it involves both an investment in education and an investment in the future of our cooperative. By supporting students who excel in their studies and contribute positively to their communities, Jannou Credit Union is helping to cultivate a generation that recognizes that success is not achieved in isolation.

Success is achieved through family, community, participation, and cooperation. We Excel Together.

As Jannou looks to the future, our commitment remains clear: we will continue investing in our members and creating opportunities for them to thrive. The Credit Union believes that its responsibility extends beyond offering financial products and services; it also involves fostering a sense of belonging, ownership, and community. We aim to ensure that the success of our cooperative translates into meaningful opportunities for all members. The 46th Scholarship and Bursary Program exemplifies this commitment.

Jannou Credit Union congratulates all the 2026 scholarship and bursary recipients and their families. We encourage them to embrace this opportunity, strive for excellence, and remember that their success has the power to inspire and uplift others.
