Jannou Credit Union Partners with Author Loverly Sheridan to Promote Anti-Bullying Initiative
Jannou Credit Union is pleased to announce a meaningful collaboration with renowned author Loverly Sheridan, author of "Be a Buddy, Not a Bully." Yesterday, the team made strides by donating buddy benches and appointing new buddy ambassadors at the Credit Union's two thrift schools, Grande Riviere Combined and Millet Primary.
This partnership is part of our mission to continue to make a positive difference in our society as we believe in fostering kindness and inclusion in our communities. The Buddy Benches donated serve as a physical representation of friendship and support in schools. By donating these benches to our thrift schools, we hope to provide students with a safe haven in which to seek support and comfort during times of isolation or conflict.
In addition to the Buddy Benches, we are thrilled to endorse new Buddy Ambassadors at both schools. These ambassadors, chosen by their peers and teachers, will advocate for measures to combat bullying, promote inclusivity, and serve as role models for their classmates. By empowering students to become Buddy Ambassadors, we hope to foster valuable leadership skills and demonstrate to them the importance of speaking out against bullying. These young leaders will no doubt play an important role in fostering an environment of empathy and respect in their schools.
